Women History Month

Lately, I’ve been sorts into feminism  and my heritage and where I come from. I’ve also been obsessed with female power, so I guess you can call me the black feminist.

It’s black history month, and I thought I’d share a little about some black women that have inspired me so far.

Harriet Tubman

Heroes are made when you make a choice – Superchick ‘heroes’
Today, being a hero means the world applauds you, means thousands of people liking your images on instagram and comment about how much
She was hit on the head by a because she refused to catch a fellow slave, this left her with massive headaches and seizures for the rest of her life. Within that same life, with all the pain physically going on in her head, she dedicated herself and risked her life to save hundreds of slaves through an underground railway station. She became a spy during the civil war, a

Now I don’t know how else a hero could be described.

This was a woman, who saved lives and families while in pain caused due to the same thing she was doing. She wasn’t paid, and therr was no social media to share her story and have her win a Nobel peace price. She was desperate, she was strong and she went after what she wanted to better the lives of others. This woman is my hero.

Rosa Parks
This young woman did one thing that changed an entire system. Now, back then, there were laws on buses for black people to give up their seats for the white ones and move to the back or stand. She had had a rough day and just wanted to sit down, watch lives move and go home. Then the bus got crowded and she was asked to move back. She stayed.

This one little act of courage, for me, shows how much attitude matters. She didn’t wait to be called in a podium or begin a riot to inspire black people, she wasn’t even any different from the average black woman trying to make ends meet just right after slavery. She had an attitude that said she wasn’t going to let her guards down, and be taken for granted, and she lived like that. I’m sure she didn’t even expect so much attention,

Live life the way you want life to be, act the way you want to be treated, whether or not people notice. It was fustrating that some people just because they were white, and she didn’t live her life complaning and running when faced with reality. She had an attitude that portrayed her mind.
